I believe I was 5 or 6 when my mom taught me to program in Basic — computers were still grey boxes with green screens back then. We would take a squared paper which would represent the screen and draw something on it, then we would need to measure all the lines and circles using squares as the system of coordinates and tell Basic to draw them on the screen. It was fun, relatively simple and it gave us other ideas;×and things got more challenging over time, as we wanted to draw more complex things.
